Workshop Offerings:
Dorothea Tolliver
Title: Career for Survivors Cost: $15.00 for 30 minute and $25.00 for an hour
Description: This workshop will provide guidance and training to prepare you for employment as well as instructions of soft skills like collaboration, conflict resolution, appropriate dress, and behavior, resume writing, and interview skills. The purpose of this workshop is to enable independent living skills for the Deaf and hard of hearing and improve their abilities for self-sufficiency in securing a job.
Noah James
Title: Choreography 101- Create a dance for you Cost: ($15-$20)
Description: Do you need help creating movement or presenting choreography? Have you reached a creative block and would like to approach choreography differently? Noah James will share with you his choreography process. Inspired by Alvin Ailey, Noah strives to bring dance to the people because dance is for them. His dance training includes Modern, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, and the Feldenkrais method. One of Noah's passions is providing creative guidance to dancers who may struggle with choreography. This includes improvisation, freestyling, and body awareness. This workshop is for everyone, no matter their dance level. While there are many ways to approach choreography, Noah will share five simple steps you can use and add to your creative toolbox.

A) Title: Beginner’s African Dance (for kids and adults) (Virtual)
Description: Learn African and the Diasporic Dance forms, vocabulary, and rhythms with
your community. Warm up your body, learn various dance techniques and styles, and end
the class with a Bantaba!
Cost: $15 per person
B) Title: Improv for Restless Movers (virtual)
Description: Not all dancing requires choreography. Sometimes we just want to move on
impulse! Welcome to Improvisation, where you can move your body following a small set
of rules, and simply have fun!
Cost: $15 per person
C) Title: Beginner’s African Drumming Series (virtual)
Description: Anyone can play the drums! All you need is something in your household
with a flat surface and the spirit to learn something new. You’ll learn about timing, the
beat, and how to maintain the rhythm. There will be a breakdown of well known rhythms
found all over Africa. By the end of the workshop, you’ll be able to play like a pro!
Cost: $10 per person
Christian Vasquez
Title: Visual Vernacular Workshop Cost: $99.00
Description: This workshop will allow Deaf community performers to comprehend the need to think beyond and outside of the box. The main goal is to improve their visual intelligence: think visual, be visual. This workshop will focus on Visual Vernacular, its prominent features (including facial expressions, gestures, classifiers), and will include hands-on activities to see the benefits of using Visual Vernacular in theater.
The workshops are exciting exercises to develop your body and facial expressions. I can help you master controlling the body, eyesight, technique, iconic gestures, and special effects in ASL and Visual Vernacular.

Title: The white & hearing system impacted Two Spirit, Latinx, & Deaf community member
Description:I’d like to share my experience as Latinx, 2SLGBTIA, language deprivation and colonization systems impact Deaf BIPOC Community. The more people are aware, the more we can change these systemic oppressions. These consultations can be done via video call or in person. If in person, we can hang out at cafes, libraries, museums, or parks in Chicago, IL.

A) Title: ASL Translation Services for the Performance and Film Industries
Description: Receive tips and/or feedback on how to translate your work into ASL for the
stage and on film. Receive an authentic Deaf perspective for pieces incorporating DHH
characters and ASL culture.
B) Title: Coaching Services for ASL/DHH Aspiring and Professional Performers
Description: Want to give your best performance or need to strengthen some areas or
your signing as a performer? I can work with you to improve your stage presence and get
you ready for your next show!
C) Title: Accessibility Consultation for Deaf Consumers in Theater and the Media
Description: Learn and apply common practice for accessibility according to ADA laws,
understand the rights for Deaf consumers, and receive feedback on your current settings
in order to improve and maximize the Deaf experience in theater and on film.
